OUR MATERIAL

Our material is our difference.

At DIPP we are passionate about making a positive difference for the environment. We all know that some plastics, especially PVC, are bad for the environment. In an age where we are spending more time with our families, we need to make sure we are doing our best for the environment. Our innovative product material is where the positive change starts.

PVC (Polyvinyl Chloride) is one of the largest forms of plastics produced and used around the world. It is the main form of plastic used in the inflatable market to date. Not only is it bad for our health, the formation and disintegration of PVC is extremely detrimental to the planet. The manufacturing of PVC is a harmful process as it releases one of the deadliest of man-made poisons - dioxin. Once created, it takes decades for PVC to breakdown. And by breakdown, we mean down into tiny pieces that lead into our waterways and oceans which is then ingested by marine life. During this breakdown process, harmful and very toxic chemicals are also released into the environment. This leaves nothing positive about the lifecycle of PVC from its production, use or disposal.

DIPP products use TPU (Thermoplastic Polyurethane) an environmentally friendly alternative to other inflatable PVC’s (Polyvinyl Chloride). It's biodegradable and non-toxic. Not only has TPU got the potential to help reduce the amount of waste going to landfill but most importantly has the potential to be better for the environment in the way it is manufactured. TPU is produced differently to PVC eliminating a lot of toxic chemicals potentially released back into the environment. Also during the nylon lamination process, solvents are not used which is much better for mother nature. It’s an amazing material that boasts high grade flexibility, abrasion resistance and resistance to oils. A much more sustainable move on from your traditional PVC’s - it biodegrades (not just disintegrates) much more quickly and is much more friendly in its production, use and disposal.

Your pool will live a useful life, but not last a lifetime, biodegrading in around 3-5 years.

DIPP’s packaging is all recyclable and our mailers are all home compostable friendly.
